NL: Can you share a bio with us?
AB: I am the Library Media Specialist (Librarian) at Nyack High School, where I have been since 2018. I am originally from Long Island, and while I miss living closer to the beach, I am proud to be a part of the Nyack community. I also love music and sports. My husband and I go to many concerts and Mets and Rangers games.

NL: What are you currently reading? Do you like it?
AB: I’m currently reading two books. One is fiction, it’s called This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub. I’m still near the beginning, but I like it so far. The other book I’m reading is nonfiction, called Where Are Your Boys Tonight: The Oral History of Emo’s Mainstream Explosion 1998-2008 by Chris Payne. I like this one so far (I’m about halfway through), though I think it would have made for a better audiobook or possibly a podcast because of all the interviews.

NL: If you could have any author speak at Nyack Library, who would it be and why?
AB: It’s hard to pick just one! I’d love to see Fredrik Backman, he is one of my absolute favorites. Every book brings out so much emotion for me, I always laugh and/or cry.. I’d also love to see Jason Reynolds and I think the teens in our community would love him, he has a great way of connecting with young people.

NL: What books are on your nightstand?
AB: Oh gosh, too many!! My TBR is constantly growing!!

NL: Are you a re-reader?
AB: Not usually. There are just too many good books out there, and I want to read as many as possible! Though I have re-read The Perks of Being a Wallflower many times, as well as Fahrenheit 451.

NL: Are you a one-book-at-a-time reader? Or do you like reading multiple books at the same time?
AB: I’m always reading multiple books at a time. Usually, I have two—one print book for when I’m home and one audiobook for when I’m on the move.

NL: Do you DNF (do not finish) books or always read until the end?
AB: I used to feel like I HAD to finish every book that I started, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that if it’s just not vibing for me, I don’t have to finish it (unless of course it’s for work or a class, something like that). Regarding reading books leisurely, we should read what we want and what we like.
