Image Reproduction and Reuse Policy

History Room Collection

The Nyack Library’s mission is to provide members of the community materials to help them gain knowledge, broaden their lives, and support educational and research needs. One way the Library fulfills this mission is by making its Local History collections free and available to the public in our reading room and online, whenever possible.

Individuals and institutions wishing to reproduce images from the Nyack Library photo collection must submit a request, and pay any fees associated with use of the image(s). Usage is contingent upon the following terms:

  • Completion of Image Reproduction Request Form.
  • Permission is granted for one-time use of the image(s) and you may not alter, transform or build upon this work.
  • Images are for personal use only and may not be loaned, sold, or given to any agency, person, or organization.
  • The integrity of the image must be maintained; it may not be used in a misleading or defamatory context.
  • In authorizing the reproduction of images in its collection, The Nyack Library does not surrender its own right to publish the image, or for others to do so.
  • Use of materials complies with any agreements which may exist between The Nyack Library and donors.
  • Use of the image complies with current copyright restrictions.
  • If the image is included in a published work, a copy of the completed work must be given to The Nyack Library free of charge.
  • Images should be attributed to: “The Nyack Library Local History Image Collection.”
