The Nyack Library Oral History Collection aims to document, preserve, and celebrate the unique history of Nyack by collecting the stories of people who experienced it firsthand. We seek to not only witness the changing landscape of our community, but to record it before it is forgotten.
The Oral History Collection is a distinct, searchable collection of interviews that presents previously undocumented history in a shareable and engaging way. The Nyack Record Shop Project was a 2018 collaboration between the Historical Society of the Nyacks and the Edward Hopper House to gather the stories of Nyack’s African-American residents.
