Requesting Library Items
You may request an item be held for you if it is currently checked out to another patron, and you may attempt to request items from other libraries in the Ramapo Catskill Library System.
To request an item using our online library catalog first follow our catalog link. After the catalog loads, locate the item you wish to request and click the Request Item button.
If the item may be reserved you will then be asked to provide your library barcode number (from your library card) and your PIN (the last four digits of your telephone number, unless you changed your PIN). If all goes well, your request will be placed and remain active until filled.
Please note that not all materials in the catalog may be available for request.
Can't Find it?
If you cannot locate or reserve a specific item through the catalog, please stop by the Reference Department at The Nyack Library. You can also call our Reference Department directly at (845) 358-3370, extension 14 or 15.You can also email us at reference@nyacklibrary.org.
Librarians have many options for getting the materials you need. If the material is not in the Ramapo Catskill Library System, we can borrow them from libraries throughout the US. If necessary, we can purchase the materials and add them to our collection. Normally there is no fee for inter-library loans. However, if a lending library charges a fee, we will notify you and ask for your approval before we send for the item.
If you need help doing research-or if you simply have a question-contact our reference librarians.
